I find it kinda odd how people talk about writing “flawed” characters like the flaws are an afterthought

Like “cool cool we’ve got this perfect hero now to just sprinkle on some Irritability and Trust Issues then microwave for 6 minutes on high until Done”

But I’ve personally found it feels a lot more useful to just… think of the flaws as the Good Traits except bad this time

The protagonist is loyal? Maybe that means they have a hard time recognizing toxic relationships and are easily manipulated by those they want to trust

The hero is compassionate? Maybe they work too hard and overextend themselves trying to help people and then they refuse to ask for help when they need it themselves for fear of burdening others

They’re dedicated to their ideals? Maybe they’re also too stubborn to know when to quit and they have trouble apologizing for their mistakes

If they’re creative, they can also be flighty. If they’re confident, they can be arrogant. If they’re brave, they might be reckless. If they’re smart, they could be condescending. Protective can become controlling, and someone who’s carefree could very well also be emotionally distant

In my opinion, the best “flaws” aren’t just added on afterwards. The best flaws are baked in deep, ‘cause they’re really just virtues turned upside down

Speaking of that new Sonic racing game, I was watching an obscure anime series called Future GPX Cyber Formula which involves car racing (aka Formula 1 racing) as part of the show. If anyone’s wondering why does that have to with Sonic the Hedgehog, it’s because his JP VA, Junichi Kanemaru, did some voice work for this show!

Why am I making this a big deal you ask? Well get this, that’s one his well-known voice works prior to Sonic and the kicker? He was doing the voice work in the year 1991, the same year the first Sonic game came out!

In case anyone’s curious to know the character he voiced, it’s Hayato Kazami, the main protagonist of the show! Here’s a screenshot of him:

It’s quite fascinating to see how that show eventually leads him to voice Sonic the Hedgehog himself a few years later.

SEGA wants to expand Sonic the Hedgehog beyond the video game market to become an entertainment franchise.

Um… Source? That’s sounds fishy to me.

Hey Greeny! Have you heard news about the Super Sonic DLC for Sonic Forces? If so, do you have any thoughts about this because I’m becoming quite concerned for people who work for Sonic Team and SEGA. (´;Д;`)

I saw on Twitter.

Pretty shitty TBH. Charging for DLC that’s already on the disc and whatsmore was a feature that was a staple in many previous games is bad and SEGA should feel bad.

I know that decision wasn’t a great idea but I’m becoming concerned about the people who work at Sonic Team. Receiving a lot of spite from “fans” might had a terrible effect on some of their workers’ mental health and perhaps, it’s affecting their work. At the same time, I don’t know why the people at SEGA decided to have the Super Sonic DLC be paid for instead of being free. Perhaps to make up for the sales?
